For the new year, USATestprep has several new features within our Benchmark System.
In Step 1 of the Benchmark creation, you can now choose to have questions displayed in Spanish.
Also, when creating a Custom Benchmark, you can choose to view questions by the passage with which they are associated, and you can select any or all questions with that passage for your benchmark test.
Finally, on the Preview section of the process, you can rearrange the order of the questions by clicking the up or down arrow next to the question number. Clicking it once will move it one space in the direction of the arrow.
We know these changes will add to your use of the Benchmark features on USATestprep. Please contact us if you have any questions.
You can now create Shared Assignments on USATestprep.
To do this, simply create an assignment- Single or Group- as you normally would. When you get to the third step- “Choose Settingsâ€- you will see this option at the bottom of the page:
Clicking “Yes†to Shared Assignment will allow any other teacher in your school who has a class created for that subject the ability to give his/her students that assignment. The other teacher(s) will simply click their Assignments tab and the “Browse Shared Assignments†link.
This view will show you all assignments that have been shared and that you can choose to assign to your students. When you see one you want to share, just click “Assign to My Students†and proceed like any other Assignment you create.
For more information on this, be sure to check out our video- “Sharing Assignmentsâ€- on this topic in our “Help†section.
If you need to have students work on their weakest areas, just look for dots.
Well, dots on USATestprep, anyway.
Whenever you see a green, yellow, or red dot next to student results, theres a good chance that clicking that dot will create an assignment for the students in your classes based on that specific standard.
Be sure you have classes created, of course, in order to get the full effect of this effective and time-saving feature. More information can be found in our Manual and Help Videos, or you can give us a call.
Have you seen our new Benchmark features?
You can now add Skill Work Activities and Free Response questions to the Benchmark tests you create on USATestprep.
You can also pick the specific questions you want to include on your Custom Benchmark.
Be sure to watch our videos on creating your own Benchmark test with our new, improved system!
You’ve probably noticed a new look when you log in to USATestprep.
Don’t worry: this is a kind of “face lift.” Everything is still in its place, just where it was before.
Students will notice the same changes in colors.
But just like with teachers, everything remains in the same place.
Students may also choose to see their subject-specific page in “List View,” though that option can be toggled back and forth with “Standard View.”
We’re excited about these cosmetic changes. We know you’ll like them, too!
Teachers can now easily print out Flashcards for all of our vocabulary terms.
When you log in, just go to your subject-specific page and look for “Flashcards” under the Print Resources heading.
Then, choose the domain within your subject and the terms you wish to include. You can click one box to select them all, or you can choose them individually. When you’re finished, click the green “Load Flashcards” button…
And they’re generated. Each sheet of flashcards will contain six terms, allowing the cards to be read comfortably by students.
Please let us know if you have any question about this helpful new feature.
We have just completed a new version of our Quiz Builder. Whats new about it?
Printer Friendly: You can create printable review quizzes of up to 30 questions for your class.
Choose Domains: You can choose to quiz on a single domain of questions or across multiple domains.
Choose Questions: You can now choose specific questions from the USATestprep database.
Save Quizzes: Quizzes you create are saved, meaning you have access to them later.
To find the new quiz builder, just log in and go to your test subject page. You’ll see it under the “Print Resources†section.

Last year, as every year, we gathered feedback from teachers and received a “wish list†of ideas for the site. Towards the top of that list was the ability to have video comprehension questions graded automatically. This fall, we have that. Still, there are only so many alternative answers we can think up as answers to those comprehension questions.
Now, you have the ability to override answers that have already been autograded. Here is how you do it.
1. Go to the Student Results tab.
2. Find the video and click the orange Edit button.
3. To change a grade, click the drop down menu. You can choose to keep it as Incorrect, change it to Correct, or give Half Credit. You can then scroll down (not pictured) and leave any comments you wish (if you wish). Click the green Submit Grade button and you’re done. The changes have been applied.
We know this help alleviate any uncertainty your students may have about their results. We will, of course, continue to edit the question answers. Students and teachers can always give us feedback about this by clicking on the Question Feedback button.
