Auto-Save Feature

Tuesday, July 24th, 2012

USATestprep now has an Auto-Save feature built in to our system.

If your students are ever taking a test and the power goes out or if there is a sudden interruption in service, all of their progress will not be lost. Our system now saves the work a student is doing on a test every 10 seconds. If something unforeseen happens, students will receive this message when they log back on to USATestprep:

This should add a little peace of mind for you and your students, especially when storms are rolling through!

Common Core

Friday, May 25th, 2012

The most popular concerns that we hear deal with the Common Core State Standards. We want you to know that we are doing whatever we can to be prepared for these changes. USATestprep has recently finished aligning your state standards directly to the common core standards using the comparison tool from the state DOE. This allows you to see how questions fit into the new CCSS, and it allows you to see which concepts are in both and which are only listed by your state.

This summer, we are completing our dedicated CCSS review that will incorporate the new common core standards and be available for your students next school year. Due to cost and political uncertainties, it is too early to predict exactly what will be required of your students when the new testing (SBAC/PARCC) is rolled out. However, due to our speed and flexibility, we will be able to easily modify our product as more of this information becomes available.

    ACT Review

    Friday, March 16th, 2012

You asked for it, now we’ve got it.

Because USATestprep subscribers requested it, we recently completed development of an online review product for all four sections of the ACT. We custom built this resource to correspond to the ACT College Readiness Standards. Our offerings include ACT Reading, English, Mathematics and Science. Each new test review includes all of the same great features as our current products. And, they are being offered at similarly affordable rates.

We can add any of our ACT products to your current subscription, so just give us a call or an email. As will all of our services, we can have the ACT Review available to your account within 24 hours of receiving your credit card or purchase order. We can also provide you with a pro-rated price so all your expiration dates match. We look forward to hearing from you!

    New Features!

    Thursday, March 8th, 2012

We’ve just added a few new features to USATestprep that you should know about.

We’ve just added lots of new avatars for teachers and students. Users can now choose from a devious but handsome Rat, a conniving T-Rex, two new Teacher options (but only for teachers), a Chicken Overlord, a hungry Caterpillar, and a beautiful Butterfly.

A few of these characters can even be seen in our brand new projector-based game, Time Bus. It will remind you of those days of playing board games as a kid, but now you can go it online using your LCD projector while reviewing important curriculum with your students. Be sure to check out the How-To video we have on this new game.

Finally, you’ve always been able to merge a student’s multiple accounts as an Account Admin. Now our “Student Merge Suggestor” will help you out. Clicking that option will enable you to merge many accounts for many students with a simple mouse click. Again, please check out our How-To Video on this new feature.

We know these tools will make using the site a little more colorful, fun, and easy. Let us know if you have any comments or questions.

    Quick Tips: Nightly Emails

    Thursday, February 2nd, 2012

All student scores can be found at any time on USATestprep by looking at one of three tabs on your Home page: Student Results, Benchmarks, or Assignments.

However, you can ALSO get notifications of student results sent to you via email each night. All you need to do is click the “Receive Nightly Email Summary” option at the bottom of the Student Results tab.

This program runs from our servers in the early morning hours when most users are asleep. It works to keep you updated daily on your students’ activities. You’ll probably notice that it is unchecked by default, so you will need to recheck it if you would like to take advantage of this option.
