NEW! Benchmarks for Excellent Student Thinking (B.E.S.T.)

Published: Feb. 10, 2021, 2 p.m.

Florida is rolling out the new B.E.S.T. (Benchmarks for Excellent Student Thinking) standards in multiple phases over the next two years for Math and ELA in all grades. In advance of each phased roll-out, USATestprep will be offering updated standards-aligned materials--along with both the old and new standards--at no additional charge during transition years.

You can learn more on the Florida DOE page here, but we wanted to provide you with some quick callouts:

  • Florida is rolling out new math and ELA B.E.S.T standards over the next two school years. You can see the timeline here.
  • For the 21-22 school year, only the K-2 ELA standards will be taught in classrooms (Curriculum Implementation Phase). 3-12 ELA and K-12 math will still be taught/assessed based on today's standards.
  • For the 22-23 school year, K-12 math and 3-12 ELA will be taught in classrooms.

The first B.E.S.T. materials on the USATP Florida Progress platform will be ready this summer, prior to the 2021-2022 school year. As always, we are committed to staying one step ahead and providing schools the latest state standards-aligned materials.

During the 2021-22 and 2022-23 school years, USATestprep subscribers will have access to both sets of standards for K-12 math and ELA.
